Blessed

I'm not much for holidays and I'm not the most sentimental of girls. But, as I sit here at mom's house, high on turkey I'm struck by how blessed I am. This has been an amazing year, full of joy and learning and I'm truly thankful. I hope each of you are as happy as I am to be alive today. Here are a few things I'm thankful for:

• My friends - I have been fortunate enough to meet an incredible array of people over the years. People that have grown with me and that have watched me grow. People that encourage me and help me to be a better person. People who make me laugh.

• My family - I can't say that my childhood is filled with warm and fuzzy feelings but, over the years, I've gotten to actually know and enjoy my family. I gained brothers from a marriage that I am lucky to have, and have step-parents that I actually love.

• My dog - she's the best dog a girl can want. Cute, joyful, loving and well-behaved.

• Everything else - this year has been full of challenges and blessings. I'm happy to have them all and look forward to next year. I said that 30 was going to be awesome. And so far, it's been more than that.

Love you all!

You say the nicest things. Now I have a lump in my throat. "You love me?" or is it the other step-parents? B
